Board Advisor for Clinical AI Implementation & Validation, HMD
Dr. Mina Ghorbanifarajzadeh (Dr. Ghorbani) is a healthcare technology leader, strategic advisor, and clinician specializing in the clinical validation, implementation, and responsible adoption of artificial intelligence in healthcare. Her career has centered on a critical challenge facing healthcare organizations today: how to translate technically sophisticated AI into clinically credible, evidence-based solutions that healthcare professionals can trust, adopt, and use to improve care.
Dr. Ghorbani brings more than seven years of experience translating clinical needs, evidence, and real-world workflows into product requirements, validation strategies, implementation frameworks, and scalable healthcare experiences. Her work spans clinical affairs, artificial intelligence and machine learning, product development, implementation, research, education, regulatory and compliance collaboration, and commercialization.
She spent more than five years helping build and scale the clinical function at Overjet, joining during the company’s early growth and progressing through clinical leadership roles before becoming a Clinical Advisor. During her tenure, Overjet evolved into a recognized leader in dental artificial intelligence, raising more than $130 million in funding and earning recognition among TIME’s World’s Top HealthTech Companies of 2026.
At Overjet, Dr. Ghorbani served as the clinical bridge across product, machine learning, design, regulatory, compliance, academic, implementation, and commercial teams. She built and scaled clinical validation and quality-assurance processes for production AI algorithms across radiographic and CBCT applications, translating clinical evidence and real-world workflows into testable product and algorithm requirements. She also helped lead implementation initiatives that supported adoption of computer-vision AI across approximately 28% of U.S. dental academic institutions.
Her work has extended deeply into evidence generation and clinician adoption. Dr. Ghorbani partnered with faculty across 55 dental schools, supported more than 15 clinical research studies, and designed education, implementation, and feedback programs used by more than 6,000 healthcare professionals. She also founded and operationalized Overjet Academy as an AGD PACE-approved continuing education provider, creating the governance, accreditation, content, and operational infrastructure needed to translate emerging AI capabilities into structured clinician education.
As a researcher and thought leader, Dr. Ghorbani has contributed to published work on the development and validation of AI-enabled clinical tools and has presented nationally on artificial intelligence, evidence-based care, dental education, and the future of healthcare. Her experience also includes advising on ethical AI, bias mitigation, usability, clinician trust, and responsible innovation, areas that are increasingly central to the safe and effective deployment of AI across healthcare systems.
Her perspective is grounded not only in technology but in clinical practice and education. As a licensed dentist and Courtesy Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diagnostic Sciences at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, Dr. Ghorbani brings firsthand understanding of clinical decision-making, patient communication, professional education, and the realities of integrating new tools into healthcare environments. She also holds national and state-level leadership roles focused on clinician well-being and healthcare professional support through the American Dental Association and Florida Dental Association.
At HMD, Dr. Ghorbani serves as Board Advisor for Clinical AI Implementation & Validation, advising on the evaluation, validation, implementation, and responsible integration of artificial intelligence across clinical education and healthcare delivery.
