Dr. Pierre Redelinghuys

Dr. Pierre Redelinghuys is a scientist, educator, strategic advisor, and life sciences leader with over 20 years of experience spanning biomedical research, medical education, pharmaceuticals, innovation, project and portfolio leadership, organizational transformation, and strategic decision-making.

He holds a Ph.D. in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Cape Town and completed postdoctoral training in Immunology at the Universities of Dundee and Aberdeen in Scotland. His academic career included research and education, with extensive experience supporting medical education program delivery. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AdvanceHE) and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

In the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector, Pierre has held senior project and portfolio leadership positions at AstraZeneca, Kymab, and Abzena, leading complex global programs and multidisciplinary teams through critical development and investment decisions. His experience includes strategic governance, portfolio management, stakeholder alignment, investment proposal development, organizational transformation, and implementing enterprise project-management systems.

At HMD, Pierre brings scientific rigor and an enterprise-level strategic perspective to the development of the platform and its educational, scientific, and professional initiatives. As Senior Scientist, he contributes to the scientific integrity, academic quality, and strategic development of HMD’s medical and scientific content. As Strategic Board Advisor, he provides senior-level guidance on innovation, governance, organizational development, strategic decision-making, and the development of high-performing teams and programs.

Pierre is particularly passionate about helping organizations and professionals translate scientific knowledge into meaningful impact. His combination of scientific expertise, pharmaceutical industry leadership, academic experience, and coaching and mentoring capability supports HMD’s mission to equip physicians and healthcare professionals with the knowledge, leadership capabilities, and strategic perspective needed to shape the future of healthcare.
